Silk Screen Printing Workshop - Fladbury Village Hall, Worcestershire
Come and learn how to silk screen print and design and make your own tea towel! In this one-day workshop you will learn how to design and make a paper cut stencil that you will have the opportunity to print on to not only tea towels but also fabric tote bags and paper .
You don't need to be amazing at drawing to do this workshop - there will be opportunity to work with some existing designs before progressing on to making a two or even three colour print - I provide booklets of design ideas throughout the day if you need some inspiration.
In the morning you will be making some screen prints on paper using existing designs to cut as stencils.
We will then move on to making a more detailed print in two colour print that you'll print your own tea towel or fabric tote bag.
In the afternoon, once you have built up a bit of confidence, we will then start moving on to 2 and 3 colour prints. I will help you develop your own ideas for a print – source materials to develop your design will be provided but feel free to bring your own images to work from.
We will be using water based acrylic printing ink as well as craft knives to cut the stencils. There will be a number of silk screens with different colours to work on through the day.
Wearing old clothes is advisable or bring an apron. We will have a short break for lunch of around about 30 mins – please bring a packed lunch
with you.
