Lost in Translation

This print is based on a memory of being lost in Japan in 2005. My brother had moved there the year before and on my first visit I took several connecting bus journeys into the unknown. I did get down to an amazing small fishing village on my adventure had some amazing sushi and managed to get myself back to Tokyo!

This image is based on my fading memory of catching the bus and then a ferry into the unknown having left the bullet train at Fukuyama.

I still get to go to Japan every once in a while with my family, but I’ll never forget being lost and not being able to speak much Japanese.
